Puppy Dexter was found at a gas station in Florida. His mom and several siblings died of malnutrition. He was nursed back to health at a shelter. A young college student adopted him and for two years he lived with a pit bull named Stella. Stella was the love of his life. She taught him how to be a dog. When the student was unable to care for the dogs anymore, he contemplated giving Dexter back to the shelter. At about the same time, his uncle in California was visiting the local shelters every weekend in an attempt to find a pet for hid seven-year-old. Soon Dexter was flying across the country to Santa Monica where he spends most of his days laying in the sun.
